H.L.  I agree with you about that but for someone looking for an inexpensive 
way to pipe up their shop it could work well.  You'd just need to run the 
header for that kit off of a tee and run a seperate, larger line directly to 
where you intend to run the impact wrench.  I run my half inch impact on 
3/8" air hose with no problem.  I wouldn't want to try a 3/4" impact on it. 
As for painting, if you are running a conventional high pressure  low volume 
spray pot the 3/8 line is plenty big enough.  I don't know about the new low 
pressure high volume hopper type paint guns.  I've never tried them.
