[Farmall] 53 Chevy truck

Folks:

I know this is a tractor site, but I have to believe a member out there knows the answer to my truck issue. I have a '53 Chevy pickup with a 235 straight six engine. If the truck sits for a week or so, I have to pour gasoline in the carburetor to get it to start. If it sits for a day or so, it starts right up.

I can't believe that in the 50's people had to prime the carburetor after the truck sat for a period of time. Is there an easy answer?

The choke works fine, and it always has to be choked to start it.

Thanks. Rich Brown, Boyne City, MI
