John what you use in the engine depends on a couple of things. If the
engine has never been rebuilt (doubtful) and has always had non-detergent
run in it then you might need to stick with it. If the engine is in good
shape and not all gummed up inside and if it were mine I'd run a multi-grade
modern oil like 15-w40 or 20-w50. If it is recently rebuilt and tight I
might run 10-W30. I'm sure someone will disagree but all my 50's vintage
tractors run multi-visc. detergent oil.
One of the fergie guys will have to help you with the rear end and
hydraulics.
