If that statement is true, then I would suspect a rat problem somewhere 
in the wiring harness..  I have had problems with my ONAN generators and 
spent days trying to find the problem when it was only rat piss on a 
connector and rusted it enough not to connect, or a gnawed spot on a 
harness in a truly inaccessible place.
