I realize this is a little late, but I spent a couple of weeks in China about 20 years ago.? It sure was an eye-opener, I do remember seeing a few small tractors, but mainly they were used to transport people and goods.? I'd like to make the trek back sometime.? What part are/were you in?
Enjoy, Joe

Subject: [AT] Greetings from China
Have spent the last few days in China checking some equipment going to SOUTH
America.
?
Driving between cities shows a lot of small farms, and have seen some plowing
being done with donkeys, and a lot of cultivating with hoes. Fery few tractors.
Much of the farmland here is hillside plots with terraces. Many of the corn
fields have plastic covering the ground around the plants to help reduse
evaporation of water - something I have not seen many other places.
?
Today we have got a little rain here also.
Dennis
