It was also common practice for dealers to add, remove, or change out what 
ever it took to make a sale.  I have seen tractors with serial numbers for 
"W" have narrow front ends, and the other way around. One fellow traced his 
back to the dealer had taken the wide front off and put narrow on to make a 
sale.
