Hi Charles

You have the wrong Paul, this time :)) I did have a carb for my 420 rebuilt
by a guy in OH. He puts on a test engine before sending them back. I can
look it up if interested.

Update. Ended up sending my Carb out for a total restore--paint, bead
blasting and such--as I don't have a place to do that. Got it back,
installed it, and it fired right up. I think that after who knows how many
years, it just needed some love.

While the carb was down, I went all over the tractor changing fluids,
replacing what needed to be replace and such. Now I have a baseline.

She runs like a top!

Hi all--

Killing time because I can't sleep and poking about on the web. I see some
electric start B's with a metal plate across the seat back that says JOHN
DEERE. Thinking to myself that's pretty neat, and the back of my seat back
is not so pretty, I figure this would kill two birds with one stone. Except
I can't find them at any of my parts places. Are these homemade additions?

Thanks!

-Paul
