Hi Don,
    Offroaders use a lot of winches on their trucks. Popular ones are Warn
and Superwinch. I looked at getting a winch from Mile Marker and was
impressed with their price and ratings and the reviews the local rock
crawlers provided. With a tractor as a power unit though you might be able
to go with a hydraulic winch as an option as well (Mile Marker sells a lot
of them to military customers, I believe). They have a website:
