If you ever have a chance to attend a "picture presentation" by the keeper of the photos for NASA (I think he has them at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC). The photos are from every NASA manned flight from the sub-orbital flight of Alan Sheppard in the early 60's to the present.  Some of the most dramatic are the comparison photos of the Sahara Dessert and Lybia since the beginning of the program, and the miss use of agricultural land and water use by countries who had crazy ideas about water drilling and grazing land.  
It puts a different slant on global warming/cooling and who is doing what to the planet earth.
