Hey guys

Posted this several places; you may see it more than once.

Got back to the 1841 a few weeks ago; think I've bout got it ready to try in
a coupla days. I read everything I could find last night on the YT Ford
forum on the subject; in one post mention was made that this system is
difficult to adjust. What's difficult? Only adjustment I see is the 2 nuts
in the cable end; for starters I put this about the center of the threaded
part. Is this OK? If not what is the proper initial adjustment?

Surprisingly the cylinder & valve worked when I tried it a year or so ago
(it sat outside with the hoses disconnected for years) but before I got the
cable working I was working that "toggle" with a big crescent wrench; it
just moved a little but seemed really stiff. The axle did steer tho. Now
that the cable's hooked up it moves a little but I have no way of telling if
it's enough? I figure there's a good chance I may have to take the valve
apart & clean it, replace o-rings, etc, to free it up some. Any tips on
that?

Still got a coupla day's work I figure before I can crank it; Cast nose has
to go back on (had to take it off to drill out a broken water pump bolt),
etc. so hopefully before the weekend is over I can tie up all the loose ends
& crank it up.

Any tips, info, etc. appreciated!
