Yes we made it just fine, about the gas. I just get the cans that have been 
around for awhile like rotate the stock. But the gas will hold up for 1 year 
or longer if there is no ethanol in it.
Our old generator is a 4000 watt coleman powermate, and it did a great job. 
The thing has less than a .5  galon tank on it. The new one  Generac 6000 we 
picked it up for $598.00
And it will run about 12- 16 h0urs on 5 galon depends on 20 amp pull or 44 
amp pull.
