I usually put about 100 bales on a wagon. Well I did until I quit
baling this summer. My wagons are smallish like about 8' x 14' or so I
had to stack them fairly high. Somehow the higher I stacked them the
more rough spots I found while driving. :-)
Yes I did have to pick up a load or two. :-)
If you stack them so they are tied together well  hitting an unseen
hole will about dump the whole thing rather than a few.
I'm keeping most of my wagons except hopper wagons. I might want to do
some hay ride type things with them. I'm just keeping one small hopper
wagon.
I had a couple of small patches of hay that were too steep to load as
it was baled. I finally bought a side bale loader just before I
decided to stop baling. I'm thinking I might paint it up and show it
hitched to the side of a wagon. Its pretty different.
