[AT] When did you start collecting old tractors?

Interesting topic Farmer. I started out as a kid driving a Ford 8N in the mid 60's. We then upgraded that to a 1956 Ford 600 but those were our working tractors. I got my first hit and miss engine in 1973 or 4 and shortly thereafter got a 1938 John Deere G. It was owned by a friend of the family and was purchased for $100.00. It had sat with the exhaust exposed and had about 2" of water in each cylinder. But, we got it running and has been a great tractor. It is all apart right now for a second restoration. Not too long after getting the G we got a 1925 McCormick Deering 10-20, also for $100.00. It wasn't stuck and after putting a hot mag on it and messing around with it we had it running in short order. The over the years more followed, 1937 JD A, JD H, Farmall F-12, Case C, Gibson D, and a few more topping out at about a dozen tractors. This past year we've thinned a few out that we probably would have never gotten around to fixing up. There's a few I'd someday like to have like a steel wheeled Fordson but that will have to wait until the kids are through college and the economy improves some. :-) I have finally just about learned that you can't have them all.
