I hope I did not throw a wet blanket on the encouragement all you guys
gave Charlie. I wish your the vest in this Charlie, and will keep you
in my prayers. However, if you decide to have the other one done or any
other elective surgery, do a lot of thinking. I have studied the
effects of anesthesia on older humans since my Father's first surgery
resulted in dementia in regard to eating. After age 60, the risk of
having a mental problem from deep anesthesia increases greatly. From
what I could deduce from all the studies I read both here and abroad,
one should wait a minimum of 2 years before having a second major
surgery. If my Dad had waited, first knee surgery on 4-28-08, and went
perfectly, he would have been in a better mental state, and perhaps the
person in post op that added the killing bandage would not have been there..

Also, a surgeon usually does the easy replacement first, So you look
forward to the next.
