I am  with  MIKE  on this  one...    with  ALL  the    JUNK   we have  used 
 over the  years and  all the shops ive  spent time  in..       No one has 
ever  shown me   tefflon  in  the sump,  the filter  or a  line,    I've 
seen  bearings,  orings,  bearing  retainer rings,  gear pieces   an  earring 
(yes DONT KNOW  HOW) .   
 
IF you have  tape dont be afraid to use it----   all   treads  CAN  LEAK    
because there technically   could be  an opening all the way around  (ya I 
know its slim to   none)
