that's probably a good bet.  If you can buy it for that or a few dollars 
more, you can probably part it out and get your money back.

I'm not a JD guy but I know enough to tell you if you can't buy it for scrap
value, leave it in the hedge row. Things to look for: Check the price of a
radiator, make sure the fly wheel isn't cracked or loose on the shaft.
Other than that they are pretty tough old machines.

Looking for information,

I am looking at a 1950's vintage JD-B, has been in a hedge-row for about 12
years, rubber is inflated, gentleman selling it inflated them with air,
can't tell me if the rears had any calcium in them - tractor belonged to his
father. It will turn over using a "bar" but not running, no battery, has
hole in radiatior, definatly a restore project.
Anyone out there who has done a "B" restoration that can give me some hints
as to what to look for as pitfalls in this restoration?
