That is true.  However, there is something to be said for a full hydraulic
loader, on a compact and easily maneuverable tractor, with MFWD and
hydrostatic drive that the wife and kids can start and drive.

A good buy is an antique tractor that has been fully restored.
As to make, about the only color I try to maintain some degree of knowledge
on is AC.   Their 60's series FWD has a good reputation. There are several
smaller companies that specialize in AC restorations, one of the bigger is
Ivan Summerix,  Lachine, MI, approx 100 miles SE of Mackinac bridge, ph
1-800-838-5869.  Have not noticed any adverse comments about him on the AC
forum.
