The 'Flip top box"
Also known as a retractable hardtop. The roof power folded into the trunk area. I worked for a Chevrolet dealer in '59 and '60. He had a beautiful '57 red and white retractable (used) in his showroom. If I recall the price was $1695.00 or maybe $100.00 more. In April of 1960, the Ford RH celebrated a one year anniversary, still sitting in the showroom. The price today some 48 years later--??? Probably a couple of bucks more.
