Hi Charlie,
I've never been even close to a hurricane, and since the list is slow, I for one would be curious to know what differences you notice. BTW I think Ike is the one to watch. Take Care, Mike M

Well I'm waiting for another one.  This one will not be much.  It's already 
raining here and it's huricane rain (if you've been around a few of them you 
can tell the difference) but no wind yet.  The storm is supposed to go 
inland 100 miles or so south of us so I don't think we'll get  much wind out 
of it.  The tide is already rising a bit.
New Bern is up stream at the end of the wide part of the Neuse River.  Any 
kind of east wind blows tide water in here so it must be starting to blow a 
little off shore or there is a pretty good storm surge ahead of Hanna one or 
the other.
