Carl,
 Be glad you got the 12v generator for your tractor. Nothing worse than
seeing a tractor that someone stuck an alternator on and chopped up a good
grille shell to make it fit. Those things aren't growing on trees anymore.
Not sure if you have to butcher the D-14 but you do on the WD series.

Good deal.  Jason,  I wasn't trying to correct you when I mentioned the one
wire alternator on 70 Chevy's.  It's just that I had a 70 Impala 454 and I
remember (or think I do anyway) the alternator on it.  You mentioned the one
hot wire and the two different configurations of plugs.  That confused me. 
I'm no alternator expert but the one wire alternator on my boat is a Delco
Remy alternator and it is just that, ONE WIRE.  There is no other connector.

It has a hot wire that goes to the battery and that's it.
