One way would be to look at the patent folder to see who the assignee
companies were. The National Archives would hold the folders for a patent of
that age.

Subject: [AT] patent search

We acquired a very old feed cutter today from a farm scrap pile. We think
we have all of it but am not sure. I went to google patent and entered the
name and date and found the patent was for the feed roller. Is there any way

to tell who may have built the machine that this was incorporated into? For
what it is worth the patent is from 1853.
