I know you have already received some good responses to your question, but one other thing you should keep in mind is that poison ivy can't stand to be constantly mowed.  If it is located anywhere that you can keep clipping it, it will die.  That doesn't give you the instant solution most are looking for, but it's something to keep in mind.
