 If you are not getting any fire, get a test light or small voltmeter.  
connect one side to ground.  At the battery side of the coil you should 
have voltage anytime the switch is turned on.  at the lead between the 
coil and distributor, the voltage should come and go as the engine 
turns, no voltage with points closed and voltage when they open.  
Remember, it fires as the points OPEN.  On more than one occasion I have 
seen new points with a coating on them from manufacturer that prevented 
them form making contact when they closed.
