Is it the truck that burns up, or something near the exhaust?  Like  
your wheat field, or the barn full of hay?

A briefl- told story from The Darwin Awards:

One of the fellows on the ice fishing trip had the bright idea to use  
a stick of dynamite to make the fishing hole, instead of chopping  
through a foot of lake ice.  They drove their truck out to a good  
spot, let the mascot retriever out for a run and prepared to make  
their hole.  The guy lit the dynamite fuse and threw the thing as far  
as they could across the ice. The eager retriever went to fetch the  
thing and headed back to them on a run.

All the yelling and screaming from the fellows frightened the dog so  
he hid under the truck, with the dynamite.

BOOM!  The truck headed for the bottom of the lake.  The dog was  
missing in action.

The insurance company denied the claim for the sunk truck based on the  
loss being due to activities with illegal substances and incredible  
stupidity.
