I didn't answer your question earlier because I've never used anything
other than the OEM type wet and slide around type. They are difficult to put
on but I prefer them because that is what was original to the tractor which
is what I think "restoration" implies.
With all that said, I think I saw on TV that you can used soapy water to
apply the adhesive back decals as well. It apparently allows you to move
them around and then goes away allowing the adhesive to work. Maybe that's
not right. It's just something I think I remember seeing on a TV show where
they were putting vinyl decals on a car.
Maybe someone else will correct me or add something.
