[AT] Part time trailer puller fuel system

I think you guys just taught me something. I have a 90 model chevy that I
pull a trailer with. It has left me on the side of the road a couple times
in the last 10 years. When I got it home and checked the codes on it, it
indicated coolant temp sensor, with a footnote to also check thermostadt.
Both times I replaced the temp sensor and thermostadt and was good to go for
a few more years. Couldn't see anything wrong with the thermostadt. Even
dropped it in hot water and it opened up like it should.

Since reading your post, I now believe the ground was my problem also. When
I removed the double nuts from the stud to remove thermostadt housing and
replaced and tightened them I fixed the ground without knowing it.

that is my hindsight for the 2 cents it worth.

Quite a story, Charlie. I am familiar with the double nutted stud you speak
of. I have to get into my '89 Delta when the weather is better. I have a
lack of fuel problem, especially when not warmed up. Coughs and starves out
like it needs to be choked especially at low RPM. Not good to pull out into
an intersection and have to baby it to keep it running. I am thinking temp.
sensor, but who knows? I have never driven this car in salt weather and
with 110,000 miles, it is still a favorite. It will get 29 MPG on a trip,
so it is better than the rest of the fleet. With gas pushing 3.50 now, I
guess I can spend a few bucks if necessary on the Olds.
