I'm in the process of restoring my 1935 B Ser # 5### (am also beginning
cleanup of the '39 B). After restoration, I plan to drive it (and
eventually both) in the local parades and threshing shows.

I want to make the tractor look as close to original as my budget will
allow, though I have no intention of putting it back on steel (it has
cut-offs now).

The '35 tractor, which has been in the family since ~1945 is equipped with a
Wico XH short-lug that has had the lugs lengthened (the '39 also has a Wico
XH), timing has never been an issue as the tractor starts and runs well.

The books say that my tractor was originally equipped with a Fairbanks-Morse
DRV2B, but I know almost nothing about the FM. My PC676 parts catalog
doesn't show a breakdown of the FM, only the 3 applicable variants of Wico.

>From the pictures of the FM, it's hard to visualize how the spark
distribution mechanism works. My question is,
"Does the FM operate in the conventional way (spring impulse, coil, points,
condenser)?"
