If you notice regular unleaded gas that sits over a 2 year period in a 
carburetor will turn to a milky white liquid like water.  This is the 
surfactant or detergent that is used to make the gas mix with water 
under the pretense to burn cooler and produce less emissions.  Hell 
water is cheaper to add to gasoline than gasoline, so we are buying 
water and thinking we are doing the environment good.  This is why they 
went to fuel injection and electronic ignition.  The fuel injection 
systems use a in tank pump that circulates the fuel continually and 
keeps the water mixed up...
