Unfortunately, I too will miss Portland this year. That is a shame, as I am an
Allis lover. I will surely miss the camaraderie (sp) around the campfire,
maybe more than the show. Maybe next year.

For those going to Portland this year I saw this info on another list.
Thought I'd pass it along. It may be right, it may be wrong. I don't know.
I'm just sharing what I read. I sure wish I could go. I've always wanted
to and with it being the site of the 08 Gathering of the Orange this is the
year I should be there but ............
Charlie
I talked to the man in charge of the antique tractor area this
morning,7-24-08, and he clarified the rules for golf carts, mules and
gators.
New rules for riding vehicles
1. Must have proof of liability insurance at the gate.
2. Must pay $10 at the gate for sticker for riding vehicle-must be attached
to vehicle.
3. Only 2 people on golf cart, unless equipped with 2nd seat.
4. No 2 wheel vehicles-no skateboards-no rollerblades-no 2 wheeled motorized
vehicles-no 3 wheel vehicles
5. No vehicles wider than 60 inches.
6. Speed limit-no more than a fast walk or 5 mph.
7. Drivers of any vehicles must be 16 yrs old and have valid driver lisc.
8. Limited riding vehicles in antique/craft area-need handycap sticker
City rules to use golfcart uptown
1.Must have SMV sign on back
2. Needs lights after dark, front & back

Hope this clears up the confusion on the Portland,IN GOTO show.Jerry/IN
