[AT] Battery in backwards question

Nothing will break, but, as you mentioned, the generator probably will 
need to be "polarized". The biggest issue is that the coil will not 
function well - they need to be set up with the positive and negative 
terminals connected appropriately. Other than that (and the ammeter 
reading backwards), there is no problem with reversing the battery.
