Most likely nothing is damaged.  Simply reversing the battery connections 
and re-polarizing the generator may be all that is necessary.  If any damage 
was done at all it would be to the voltage regulator points from arcing 
during operation.  Also, make sure the coil (if battery ignition) is 
connected with the + side of the primary winding to the points post on the 
distributor if going to pos. ground.

If a Cub was run for a long period of time with the battery in backwards
(negative to ground, Cubs are supposed to be positive ground) what will
likely need repaired? Not charging at the moment.
