I followed the thread about internet options and wanted to add  
another option.  If you have a local coop telco like I do that is a  
bit more responsive to their customers than the big players, and are  
beyond the reach of the central office, you might talk to them about  
using the Charles Industries system.  I had been long out of reach  
until last summer when my CO-OP telco started using this system for  
customers like me that are out of range.  It maybe isn't quite as  
fast as regular DSL, but I'm quite happy with it.  They have to put a  
new box outside the house with the DSL modem located there.  And I  
imagine there may be other hardware at the Central Office.    I think
