[AT] battery question

Hey guys
 
Bought a battery for my Ford diesel tractor today at the local Napa
store.  Was new in box but when I opened it the manufacturing & shipping
dates were in 2005!  Dead (needless to say) but seems to be taking a
charge now.  If it takes a charge should it be ok or should I try to get
them to order me a new one?  Don’t know what the warranty period is
(forgot to ask) but it being near 3 yrs old already makes me skeptical.
 
Opinions appreciated!
