[AT] 12-volt conversion (OT) Why?

I have done 12 volt conversions on equipment that I need to be positive that 
it will start at anytime, anywhere.  12 v lights are brighter and I have yet 
to find a 6 volt Alternator which charges as well as a 12 volt.

I have also done 12 volt conversions using a 6 volt generator and, with a 
little tweaking, they seem to keep the battery charged just fine.
