Dick,

The following may be a help to get the conversion started:

1) Replace the 6 volt battery with a 12 volt;
2) Replace any light bulbs with12 volt bulbs;
3) Add a Ballast resistor (if keeping the 6 bolt coil); and
4) Replace Generator with Alternator -
The GM 10SI is a good/plentiful Alternator. See the 10SI unFAQ for how to
install it.

Good Luck -
Dudley

Can anyone give me (for a buddy) some pointers on doing a 6 to 12-volt
conversion on a '43 JD, electric-start B?

What exactly will need to be changed besides adding an alternator? Any
favorite brand/types of alternators you would suggest?

Any websites that you know of that give detailed instructions?

Thanks!
