Assuming the engine  cranks/turns over I would suspect the injection pump.
 
Diesel injection pumps have a caution about contact with cold water etc.  
when they are warm/hot.
I suspect there may be a problem with the fuel shut  off area of the pump 
that occurs when the pump is  warm/hot.
