if you have water in any system you may have ice that is causing vibration in a line (if you are in a cold area).

Guys, I need some help. I took off today in order to start a few tractors. I
started with my JD 40 (1956). I got it started
and I'm getting a weird noise and its not from the engine. It appears to
be coming from the gas tank area. The noise is like
a loud vibration and I just don't see what it could be. The last time I
ran it in late spring, it was fine. I also check a few of
the oil levels and found that the transmission oil is milky which say that
water got into it correct? Should I drain it for the
winter? Or should I drain it and fill it with kerosine and let it sit until
spring? These are outside under tarps so I just want
to get them running and let them run for a while but this noise bugs me.

If anyone want to give me a call on my cell its 484-226-0487.

LeRoy
