The only problem with sending cash, if doing it through the mail, would be 
the honesty and integrity of the seller. If the seller says he didn't 
receive anything in the envelope, or it was short, you wouldn't have any way 
to prove otherwise. If the item was picked up in person, I don't see where 
anyone outside of the seller and purchaser could  dictate what form of 
payment was to be made.
