My thoughts

I've been on Ebay for many years, still selling currently.
Ebay is in a transitional state due to their many changes, buyer and increasing
seller
dissatisfaction, and the decline in online auctions in general.
Amazon is coming on strong as there is no listing charges and they take only a
final value fee.
But as with anything, there are problems with Amazon. To me, I think in the area
we're all interested in, who would think of checking Amazon? Normally I wouldn't
although this could of course change.

As Chris said, Craigslist is great for certain things,I've sold furniture etc,
but I can't see where it would be useful for our hobby in it's current state. JR
expressed this also.
And let us not forget, it's not auction oriented, more classified oriented.

The problem has been and remains there is not as of yet a real viable auction
oriented alternative to Ebay. Many specialty niche sites sure but not a general
overall site like Ebay.

Myself I am consistently shocked by my Ebay bill and what Paypal takes. I try to
rationalize it
as the cost of getting rid of what I wanted to.

Other relevant Ebay changes that I found of interest-
-Allowing Ubid.com (believe it's Ubid, if not a similar megaseller)to list many
1000's of items and with a special deep discount listing fee. Sure makes it tough
on mom and pop selling the same items doesn't it?
-lowered or removed listing fees-new development
-increasing emphasis on fixed price listings (think Amazon again)
-loss of ability to give feedback against buyers, kind of leaves sellers with no
recourse doesn't it?

And more

I think you will see Ebay continue to transition and change as it finds it's way
in today's online sales and auction world.

Good luck and see you on Ebay!...err...wait.....
