Mattias, does your friend realize how far it is from Chicago to California
by car?  Reminds me of the time years ago when a college aged friend of mine
was living in Philidelphia.  He told his friends he was going home to TN to
visit.  All his friends wanted to go along.  It seems one had a friend in
Georgia, another knew somone in Mississippi, another one in Fla.  They
thought they could just drop in along the way kind of like driving from
Philly up to Maine.  The trip should be a nice adventure for your friends.

Yeah, I know. We were almost planning to make the trip next autumn but
I know now that it won't happen. I have friend though that is leaving
today for Chicago and then California by car, you know as we see it
gas and cars are for free in America :-)
