Are you selling through ebay? I feel you are better off with ebay, at least you can see their rating and some history of what they have bought. 

I have sold a few things overseas on ebay but nothing as large as a tractor. Dollar is still weak and Europeans are buying our stuff cheap, even after shipping. 

If he puts the money in first and it clears, and he arranges shipping then it should be ok...

But, if he says he wants you to work with his shipper and he will pay you plus the extra money for his shipper so you can pay the shipper, tell him to pound sand. Had that happen to me on craigslist. Read up on it, its a scam. They send you a money order, you cash it at your bank, pay the shipper, then two weeks later your bank calls and says the money order is bogus.
