        That can be handled by stating that it has to be picked up after 
the sale, no shipping provided or arranged. Just insist that the payment 
be made in full, one week after the bid ends, but before it's picked up 
(unless she wants to make other arrangements). This should limit it to 
only serious bidders.


.....or selling it for too little... 

        Determine a fair price and set a "RESERVE". If the bids aren't 
high enough to meet what she wants, she doesn't have to sell. Then there's 
the "Buy It Now" option. If somebody really wants it, they may opt not to 
bid and just buy it outright. If it doesn't sell she can relist it and try 
again until she gets what she feels it's worth. I've also seen listings 
that indicate that the item is up for sale locally, and that it may be 
withdrawn prematurely if it does sell locally. So she can list it on eBay 
and still try to sell it locally. Whatever, remind her that she has the 
ability to get what she wants for it and isn't going to have to "give it 
away".

Go to eBay and read all the listing information to see what all the rules 
and limitations are.
