Re your wheel weights. Are they from an 'N' tractor or something later?

Not sure what you mean by 'pie shaped'... A slice of pie or a whole pie? 
Or rather, is there one weight for each wheel?

I'm in South Wales (outside Buffalo), where in upstate are you?
