Thanks Ed
I've been trying to contact Roland Jackson but no success so far. He
told me originally (when I first traded for this bout 6 months ago & it
was 100 miles from here; just got it home last Friday) bout his setup
but said the cylinder must work (which I can't tell without the pump) &
asked bout my pump (which I thought was missing but the way this thing
was buried in vines so couldn't tell for sure) so I'm stuck till I can
get hold of him & get a pump to see what happens with my cylinder. From
preliminary checks my steering wheel cable system seems to be ok; when I
remove the cover from the little gearbox on the side of the tractor the
plate inside rotates when I turn the steering wheel.

I elimated my pump and tied into the tractor loader hydraulics. Bought

setup from a man named Jackson . They sell power steering setups for 8N
fords I will look up there web site and post it

Hey guys
An old 1841 with backhoe followed me home; was told that when it was
parked bout 10-15 years ago that the steering didn't work. The cable
system that controls it seems ok; no idea bout the rest of it as the
steering pump is gone. Someone on another forum or yahoo group (don't
recall where; my search for info has been ongoing for months while I
waited to get it home) that an old Ford automotive pump would fit but no
year models, etc. Anyone have any info? Maybe a pump you'd sell? I'm
not even sure where it mounts (right or left side; brackets that might
be for a pump on both sides).
Any help appreciated!
