GH-
I have noted this fact once or twice previously....my wife's family operated a little farm concern and a fuel delivery business. Over the years, her uncles, etc. had acquired a number of tractors (almost all IH, mind you) and just plain "used 'em up". These relics are now spotted around one of the properties and, basically, are going to scale in the field. There are at least two M's, three H's, and a 340 Utility. Naturally, there is myriad accessories and implements, too. Frankly, this "waste" is too sad to photograph. I guess that was just the "old farmer mentality" of days gone by which is to say that I am not "picking" on my wife's family and their indifferent ways.
On the other side of the coin, an elderly gentleman down the road has an A housed in a metal garage (late 50's vintage...can't say exactly) and it looks as if it is ready to go to Sunday school. He is willing to part with it and at a reasonable price considering its near-perfect condition. However, I don't really have use for it (nor the room in the barn). I do think about it quite a bit, though.
Go figure.

I thought it might be fun for list members to start submitting photos of Farmall's (their own collection and those spotted here and there). The artsier the better. Boneyard photos are welcome. You get the idea...

If we don't want to bother posting through the photos page on antique-tractor.com, I can set a separate site up (probably through Google's Picassa).

I'd propose that each shot ID the tractor (or implement) as much as possible, as well as including basic location info (city & state), and owner (if they so choose). Perhaps we could start placing faces to some of the names we see onlist.

Anyone interested in a friendly contest? Shoot me an email and we can get it rolling.

  Greg
