Actually, the building I ordered uses a variation of this, although not 
cement posts. They use three treated plank put together with stainless 
steel screws. Each plank is a different length, about 4,5, and 6 feet long 
all equal at the bottom but staggered at the top. The rest of the "post" is 
not treated but is again 3 plank nailed together and staggered to match the 
top of the treated part. When they nail the two together the staggered 
splice spreades the stress. The top of the " post" has the center plank a 
few inches shorter than the one on each side. The truss then fits between 
the 2 plank. Rafters are 10 feet apart and the roof 2 by 4's are on edge. 
Because the rafters fit on top of each post the building has no top plate 
as such.
