[AT] David Brown parts - made of gold?

I was at a local machine shop this morning getting a price on reboring/
crank turning, etc. on a Farmall Cub engine.  There was another customer
there looking for a set of main bearings for a David Brown tractor engine
(I didn't ask what model).  He had just come from the local Case/IH/NH
dealer who had quoted him a price of  *$1500*  just for the bearings.  Did
the dealer make a mistake or are DB parts that expensive??  I would
make my own before I would pay that.
