I've never used a fast hitch flail, but a couple guys on the
Farmallcub.com site have them and really like them. I have had a belly
mount version for over 20 years, and am quite happy with it. Mott is
now Alamo Group, and parts are available through many implement dealers,
though the best place I have found for parts is flailmaster.com. The
flails give a cut comparable to a single blade Woods or IH, but they do
not mulch. The do have a tenancy to wrap up if cutting real tall
stringy grass such as fescue. Great for weeds, light brush, etc. Also
a big plus is that they do not throw rocks, sticks, etc. they just roll
them out the rear. The shape of the housing combined with the big
roller on the rear form a baffle so debris just rolls out rather than
being thrown.
