Joe, I have a Commander 6000 parked in my barn for the past year & still haven't got around to work on it. IT'S A VERY COMPLICATED MACHINE SO YOU MUST BUY THE SERVICE & OPERATORS MANUALS IN ORDER TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS! I've spent many hours reading these manuals to try & understand the design of this tractor. Parts are VERY difficult to find and the tractor could be considered a "money pit"!Please keep us posted on your progress. Look under the left hand foot rest for the arm that disconnects the transmission from the rear end. That is the way to move it when the engine is shut down. ALSO; WHEN WORKING ON THE ENGINE WHILE IT IS RUNNING, BE SURE ITS DISCONNECTED FROM THE REAR!!!

> I guess I need some help here. Apparently the owner shut off the tractor while it was in gear and was told that the only way to get it out is to get it going again and shift it into neutral.? I thought we could just push in the clutch to make it roll onto the trailer, but he said he tried this and it would not move.? It has a select-o-speed transmission.? Was he told correctly and the only way were going to move the thing is to start it up first?? I know it ran two years ago, but I don't think he's tried to start it since so that might make it more of a challenge.
