Is there any interest in these things?? They seem to get little to no press, while I know they had there short commings, were they so bad that the antique tractor world?turned?its back on them??

A few years ago a friend of mine bought an old farm house, and offered as an "extra" was a Ford 6000.? I went over to check it out for him, and it started right up from cold in the middle of winter with a few turns of the starter.? I told him to buy it as it seemed to be a good deal..then the problems started, the only thing really wrong with it is somewhere along the line someone cobled up the hydraulics on it to hook up a loader, and by doing so disconnected the hydraulics that provide the juice to the three-point hitch and the breaks.? My frined being no mechanic tried working on it over the years but never really got very far.? He had it for sale for awhile, but most would come and look and express an interest but never actually come back to close the deal.? He's tired of looking at it in his yard so he called me today and asked what I would charge him to haul it to the scrap yard.? I assured him that I would haul it away for him, and he wouldn't have to pay me a thing.?
He knew what I meant and just wants it out of his yard, even if it sits in mine for the next --- years.

What I know is it is a Diesel, has a wide front and a loader, SOS transmission, decent tires and sheet metal, and it will be in it's way to my house next weekend.? I guess I just got another project...

Enjoy, Joe
